Privacy Policy

What this policy covers

This policy explains how Jury Verdicts Northwest (“JVNW,” “we,” “us”) handles personal information when you visit our website, create or use a research account, search or open case materials, purchase access, contact us, or upload a file. The research archive contains court and legal-report information; this policy is about information tied to users and their use of the service.

Information we collect

How we use information

We use information to provide accounts and research, run exact and Ask searches, deliver case documents, process authorized uploads, administer memberships and search allowances, support users, maintain records, improve reliability, and comply with law. We use IP addresses for security, fraud and abuse prevention, rate limiting, troubleshooting, acceptance evidence, and internal analytics. Longer-term analytics should use aggregated or de-identified data instead of raw IP addresses.

We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. We do not let a per-query AI model decide exact-search matches. When an AI-assisted feature is used, its output remains tied to the source material and is subject to the product’s review and citation controls.

Processors and providers

We use service providers only to operate the service. Current or planned providers include Google Cloud for application hosting, databases, private file storage, logs, and document processing; Anthropic for specifically invoked Ask and document-extraction features; PayPal for launch payment processing after checkout is approved; Resend for email delivery after the sending domain is enabled; and professional advisers where needed. Each provider processes information under its own terms and our instructions or configuration. Providers that are not yet enabled do not receive production data through the disabled feature.

Retention and deletion

We may retain a record longer when reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, a legal hold, a dispute, or another legal obligation. When deletion from an active system is approved, we also direct relevant processors as required; backup copies age out rather than being restored to active use.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live and subject to legal exceptions, you may ask to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information; ask for a list of categories of third parties or processors that receive it; withdraw consent where consent is the basis; or opt out of sale, targeted advertising, or qualifying profiling. JVNW does not currently sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. You may appeal a denied privacy request by replying to our decision and asking for an appeal. You may also complain to the regulator or attorney general that applies where you live.

We verify requests to protect the account and the people described in legal records. A request to delete customer-supplied case material must come from an authorized account or content owner. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.

Security, children, and changes

We use access controls, private storage, transport encryption, least-privilege database roles, audit records, and other safeguards appropriate to the service. No system can promise absolute security. JVNW is a professional legal-research service and is not directed to children under 18.

We will post a new version and updated date before a material policy change becomes effective. When required, we will give additional notice and request a new, unchecked acceptance.
